Hillsboro Fire Protection District 2021 YIR and going back to the ballot in April

(Hillsboro) 2021 was another busy year for first responders and the number of calls for service.

That’s no different for the Hillsboro Fire Protection District. Hillsboro fire Chief Brian Gaudet says the calls for service last year increased by a couple hundred.

To keep up with the growing number of calls for service each year and the continued expansion and development of the community, Hillsboro fire will once again have a tax measure for voters on the April ballot.

However, the language to the tax measure and amount has changed.

If approved, the 35 cents increase would be implemented over a three year period.

The first year would be 25 cents, with the second and third year adding 5 cents each.

The ultimate goal would be to keep six full-time firefighters on duty at any given time in the Hillsboro Fire Protection District.
