Hillsboro Fire Protection District Receives Grants

(Hillsboro) The Hillsboro Fire Protection District was recently awarded some grants to help with everyday operations and general upkeep of equipment.
Hillsboro fire Chief Brian Gaudet says they received a grant from the Jefferson Foundation.
Also, the district received a $120-thousand grant stemming from the Volkswagen emission lawsuit.
Chief Gaudet says with the money the district will purchase a new fire truck.
The new tanker vehicle was ordered in December.
The department is hopeful to have it finished and ready for delivery by sometime next year.
The total cost of the tanker is $338-thousand.
