Hillsboro Fire Receives Grant from FEMA

(Hillsboro) The Hillsboro Fire Protection District recently received a 3-year grant of more than $1 million from FEMA to help with hiring 6 additional full-time firefighters.

Hillsboro Fire District Chief Brian Gaudet says this is a “AFG Safer” grant.

In other good news from the Hillsboro Fire Protection District, the new fire truck should be delivered soon.

Upon receiving the new fire truck, Chief Gaudet says fire crews will be trained on the vehicles equipment.

The fire truck is expected to be in service by the start of next year.
