Hillsboro heads to St. Pius in JCAA clash on KJFF

(Festus) Two of last years’ top teams in JCAA boys’ basketball meet up Monday on KJFF as the Hillsboro Hawks face off against the St. Pius Lancers.

Unlike last season, Hillsboro is still trying to find its identity.

While stars like sophomore guard Noah Holland have emerged, the Hawks are just 5-7.

Head coach Dan Johnson says his team is having a tough time closing out games.

Meanwhile, St. Pius has started 6-0 thanks to the strong core of seniors Chase Marnin, Michael Bollinger and Zander Parson.

But Lancers head coach Chris Miller says they’re prepared for a stiff test.

The Lancers knocked off the Hawks 68-57 last time they met in 2018 to snap a 5-game losing streak in the series.

Hillsboro visits St. Pius Monday evening with pregame coverage at 6:45 on AM 1400 KJFF.
