(HILLSBORO) Tuesday on KJEFF Sports Talk’s Jefferson County Athletic Director Summer Series, Hillsboro Athletic Director Eddie Moreno dropped by the studio to preview the upcoming 2019-2020 sports season.

Of note was homecoming week as the Hillsboro football Hawks will be taking on DeSoto on Friday, October 11th.

Also of note was the announcement that Andrew Hubbard has been selected as the new girl’s basketball coach following Joe Fehlker’s resignation.

The softball team is coming off of a 4th place finish at state behind Mizzou commit Emma Nichols, Jefferson College commit Kelsey Boyd, and others. Despite that, Moreno still has faith that Coach Kevin Lucas will get the best out of those returning.

Moreno lastly addressed Hawk ballplayer Michael Brewer signing with the Texas Rangers.

For the first official games of the fall season for Hillsboro, the Hawks football team will be at home on August 30th against Sullivan; softball will be in the Parkway Tournament beginning Tuesday, September 3rd; boy’s soccer will host Festus on September 11th; volleyball will be at home on September 3rd against Northwest; and boys and girls cross country will have the Fleet Feet Classic at Arnold City Park on September 3rd.
