Hillsboro, Jefferson meet in late-season baseball on KJFF

(Illinois) Jefferson County teams will collide on the diamond looking to keep it rolling when the Jefferson Blue Jays meet the Hillsboro Hawks Wednesday on KJFF.

Both teams head to GCS Credit Union Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois with solid second halves of the season under their belts.

Jefferson is one of the hottest teams in the area.

Behind senior stars Colby Ott, Dylan Schnitzler and Daylen Whitener, the Blue Jays have won eight straight and 11 of their last 13 to get to 13-7.

Head coach Robert Kuehnle says they’ve taken it one game at a time.

Hillsboro is just 7-16, but the Hawks have been far more competitive after a 1-9 start.

This will be the fourth straight season that the Blue Jays and Hawks have met at the home of the Gateway Grizzlies.

Jefferson looks to make it nine in a row when they face Hillsboro Wednesday afternoon.
