(Hillsboro) There’s a reason that the Hillsboro Hawks are ranked in the top 10 for Class 4 and it’s because they boast one of the most explosive rushing offenses in the area. Hillsboro scored touchdowns on all five possessions in the first half and coasted to a 58-21 victory over the Festus Tigers. Jaxin Patterson scored the first of his two touchdowns to break the 0-0 tie.

Patterson brings the power, but Kansas State commit Austin Romaine brings the speed. Romaine broke off a long run to give the Hawks a two-touchdown lead in the first half.

While Hillsboro is known for those two dynamic running backs, the Hawks also have a quarterback that can take off.

Brown, Romaine, and Patterson combined for 366 yards and 7 of the Hawks’ 8 touchdowns. Head Coach Bill Sucharski gives a lot of praise to his entire offense.

Arhmad Branch caught two touchdown passes from Essien Smith and Jeremiah Cunningham and Landen Yates caught a scoring pass from Cunningham to give the Tigers 21 points. The Hawks stay undefeated at 5-0 and face Windsor next week. Festus falls to 2-3 and hosts North County.
