(HILLSBORO) The City of Hillsboro is a step closer to constructing a much-needed water tower on the north end of town. Hillsboro Mayor Buddy Russell says after several years of discussions, they are close to getting construction moving forward.
Hillsboro Police Chief Steve Meinberg says the tower will be a huge step to grow the city even more.
Mayor Russell says it eventually will open the door to more subdivisions and homes coming to Hillsboro.
The bidding process for the construction of the water tower could happen this spring or summer. The tower will be located near the intersection of Old Highway 21 and Highway A.
