Hillsboro working on keeping up cross country success

(Hillsboro) In a hotbed for cross country running, the Hillsboro Hawks have often found themselves setting the pace.

Hillsboro finished seventh as a team at the Class 4 state championships in 2020, and most of that squad returns this season.

Hawks head coach Tom Gordon says he believes the programs as a whole is stronger than ever.

Junior Josh Allison was a state medalist last year, and Gordon thinks the team success last year shows that he has a dearth of great runners, all primed to take another step forward.

And Gordon is quick to note the young runners on his girls’ team.

Hillsboro will start the 2021 cross country season in late August.
