Hillsboro Wrestlers Perform Well at SEMO Conference Tourney, Begin 42nd DeSoto Bob Georger Classic Friday

(JACKSON) The SEMO Conference Boys Wrestling Tournament in Jackson took place last weekend and the Hillsboro Hawks had champions in the 106-pound weight division and the 126-pound weight division. Gavin Alexander won the 106.

Head coach Matt Mitchell talks about it.

James Short was champion of the 126 and also earned the Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament Award as voted on by the opposing coaches.

The Hawks earned 547.5 points to place 4th out of 16 teams. There were a couple of 2nd-place finishers in freshman Griffin Ray in the 138 and sophomore Dalton Litzsinger in the 132. The Hillsboro boys wrestling team will begin the 42nd DeSoto Bob Georger Classic tomorrow at 5 p.m.
