Hillsboro’s Alexander continues wrestling dominance in Dream Team return

(Hillsboro) Gavin Alexander is authoring one of the finest high school wrestling careers in Missouri history.

After debuting with the Hillsboro Hawks by winning a Class 2 state championship as a freshman, Alexander nearly did it again.

His runner-up finish at 120 pounds earned him a spot back on the Regional Radio Dream Team.

But he does not take laurels like that for granted.

Alexander brought home his second district championship and went 33-3 in total this winter.

His third state medal means he’s never finished worse than fourth in his weight class.

To be that good, Alexander says it’s all about mindset.

And the people Alexander works with day in and day out to realize his success are the ones he’s quick to thank.

Of the 3 other Hillsboro wrestlers to make the Dream Team, senior Dalton Litzsinger joins Alexander with multiple selections.
