Hillsboro’s Kaylee Hilton Breaks Single Season Strikeout Record En Route To Athlete Of The Week

(Jefferson County) Hillsboro softball player Kaylee Hilton is the Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week. The junior has been dominant for the #4 Hawks, helping them to a 21-8 record this season.

On September 30th, Hilton broke Hillsboro’s single-season strikeout record in a 6-0 win over St. Pius. Her 16 strikeouts gave her 184 on the year, surpassing Amanda Clack’s 172 strikeouts during the 2003 season.

Hillsboro head coach Tish Naeger says Hilton has been a great leader for the Hawks.

Hilton went 3-0 in the circle last week, striking out 40 batters in 19 innings while allowing seven hits and two earned runs.

In the batters box, she went 9-for-15 with five doubles, one triple, one home run and 11 runs batted in.

As Athlete of the Week, Hilton will receive a t-shirt, a certificate, and a free entrée at Applebee’s in Farmington.
