Hillsboro’s Krysta Miller is Farmington Applebee’s Athlete of the Week

(HILLSBORO)    Hillsboro High School’s track and field athlete Krysta Miller is being honored as this week’s “Applebee’s of Farmington J-98 Athlete of the Week”. Krysta, a junior, placed well in a number of events at the “McCullough-Douglass Track and Field Invitational” held this past Saturday at Festus High school.

The field featured over 30 teams. Krysta tied her school record with her first long jump taking 2nd place with a jump of 17 feet. She took 3rd in the triple jump, jumping 34’5 1/2. Also, for the first time ever Krysta competed in the high jump. She ended up clearing 4’8 and taking 6th place. Hillsboro Track coach Dina Holland says Krysta had quite a day.

Coach Holland says Krysta is very coachable.

Krysta also was part of the 4×100 meter relay and helped her team finish in 5th place.

For being named the “Applebee’s of Farmington J-98 Athlete of the Week” Krysta will receive a certificate, a T-Shirt and a coupon for a free entree at Applebee’s in Farmington.
