Hillsboro’s Patterson makes it 3-for-3 on football Dream Team

(Hillsboro) Jaxin Patterson might already be the most accomplished running back in the history of Hillsboro Hawks football.

If it seems premature to dub a junior with that title, consider that he just earned a third selection to the Regional Radio Dream Team.

Patterson rushed for over 1,300 yards for the third consecutive season and has scored 47 career touchdowns.

But even as the accolades pile up, Patterson doesn’t take any of it for granted.

Patterson piled up 1,442 yards and 17 TDs just this season on his way to helping Hillsboro go 9-2 and win a conference championship.

Despite have carried the ball well over 400 times already in his career, Patterson actually set a career high for rushing yards as a junior.

He says the biggest key to his success is that he learned to love the grind.

But Patterson isn’t dragging Hawk opponents up and down the field on his own.

He says coaches and teammates are right there every step of the way.

Patterson has already accumulated 4,053 yards on the ground in a career where he is a 3-time first-team all-conference selection.
