House Bill 920 will move General Municipal elections to November

(Jefferson City) House Bill 920 in the Missouri Legislature has made its way out of the House of Representatives. The bill contains language that would move General Municipal Elections which are normally held in April, to November starting in 2022. These elections typically contain city council races, school board races, as well as fire and ambulance district races and certainly focused on local issues. Festus City Administrator Greg Camp is not a fan of this.

Crystal City City Administrator Jason Eisenbeis also does not think this is a good idea.

House Bill 920 was filed by Republican State Representative Ben Baker of Neosho. House Bill 920 will now move on to the State Senate for its approval.
