How the Doe Run Company is Dealing with the Coronavirus

(Viburnum) How is the Doe Run Company dealing with the coronavirus pandemic?

The lead mining company is one of the largest employers in southeast Missouri, employing around a thousand individuals from the listening area.

That’s according to the company’s website. Tammy Stankey is the mining company’s director of communications.

Stankey says some of their employees were wearing masks long before the pandemic began in March.

Stankey says the Doe Run Company is doing other things too.

The Doe Run Company has six mines in southeast Missouri…the Casteel Mine in Bixby, the Buick, Brushy Creek, Fletcher and the Sweetwater mine in Reynolds County, the Number 29 Mine near Courtois in Washington County and the company’s exploration and development offices in Viburnum.

The company also has the lead battery recycling facility located near Boss.
