Human Trafficking Discussed At Farmington Chamber Meeting

(Farmington) Human trafficking was the topic of discussion at yesterday’s (thursday) Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce meeting. Joanna Watts is the director of CASA of the Parkland, which works with children in the foster care system. One of the things she spoke about is what a big industry human trafficking has actually become.

Watts really stressed learning the warning signs of human trafficking and urged people to get involved in addressing this problem.

According to Watts, there are over 600 children in the foster care system in the 24th judicial circuit. It’s estimated that well over half of them are in danger of being victims of human trafficking.
