Imperial Man Charged in the shooting, killing of a St. Louis County Man

(St. Louis County) An Imperial man is facing charges after he allegedly shot and killed another man at a residence in Fenton, on the St. Louis County side.

22-year-old Tony Hager is charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Class A Felony, and Armed Criminal Action for reportedly shooting and killing 25-year-old Austin Vines of Fenton.

Vines’ dog was also shot and killed in the incident.

According to St. Louis County authorities, Hager went to the home in the 600 block of Greenhurst Court in Fenton on Sunday afternoon to confront the occupants stemming from an ongoing disagreement before the shooting happened.

Police say two witnesses who were not involved said Hager shot Vines.

Vines was taken to an area hospital with life threatening injuries and later died on Monday.

Hager was later arrested in southern Missouri’s Ozark County, where he is being held with a $250-thousand cash only bond.
