Imperial man injured in Franklin County accident

Two people were injured in a motorcycle accident on westbound Highway 30 at Bethel Church Road in Franklin County Thursday afternoon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 56-year-old Michel Reuter of Imperial was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson Street Glide and was unable to maintain control of the motorcycle as he approached a blue Honda motorcycle that was stopped in traffic. Reuter’s motorcycle overturned and started sliding and struck the Honda, ejecting Reuter and a passenger 40-year-old Nicole Litton of Farmington. The driver of the Honda left the scene. Litton was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington with moderate injuries, while Reuter was airlifted to Mercy St. Louis with serious injuries. Both were not wearing helmets, and the accident took place just after 5 o’clock Thursday afternoon.

Michael Reuter is the current Jefferson County Circuit Court Clerk.
