(Hillsboro) Preparations for the August primary election are well underway, and there are some important dates voters need to be aware of before it arrives. Jefferson County Elections Clerk Ken Waller says the last day to register to vote and to vote absentee in August comes up next month.

Waller says there will be some rather important changes to keep in mind for the November election.

Just as a reminder, a voter ID will NOT be needed to vote in the August Primary. Also, the first day people can vote absentee for the August election is tomorrow (Tuesday). The August Primary election is on August 2nd.
