Inmate Death at Potosi Prison

(Potosi) A 27-year-old inmate from the Potosi Correctional Center died Monday.

A news release from the Missouri Department of Corrections says Robert Gray was pronounced dead after being taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.

Gray was first sent to prison in October of 2012 when he was just 19-years-old.

He received a life sentence after being convicted in St. Louis city for forcible sodomy with a weapon, kidnapping, armed criminal action, assault, unauthorized use of a weapon and resisting arrest.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine how Gray died.
