Iron County Applies for Storm Damage Reimbursement

Local, state and nonprofit agencies and organizations in Missouri seeking reimbursement for expenses due to severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding from July 29th through August 14th. Last weekend was the deadline for those entities to submit requests to the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency. We asked Iron County Presiding Commissioner Jim Scaggs if they applied.

Other local counties eligible for this funding include Bollinger, Crawford, Madison, Perry, Ste. Genevieve and Wayne counties. Applicants will be reimbursed for disaster-related costs for emergency response, debris removal and permanent work such as repairs or replacement roads, bridges and other public infrastructure. The federal cost-share for all categories of public assistance is 75-percent.
