Iron County Now Has First Covid-19 Case

(Ironton) The Iron County Health Department has confirmed its first positive case of COVID-19 in the county.

The person has been notified they have tested positive.

The health department says they are working with the individual to insure they are following Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines in regards to isolation.

The Iron County Health Department is investigating this case and has identified and contacted persons who may have come into contact with the individual while they were infectious and will monitor them for fever and respiratory symptoms.

This individual is a healthcare professional who had an exposure at their place of employment in another county.

The health department says they will not release any other information about the person who is Iron County’s first positive case.
