Irondale Man Receives Serious Injuries in Washington County Crash

(Washington County) A man from Irondale was seriously injured in a one car crash early this morning in Washington County.

The Highway Patrol says the accident took place on Cedar Creek Road, a mile and a half north of Rieffer Road when a Lincoln Towncar driven by 57-year-old Thomas Popejoy ran off the road, the car flew threw the air, then down an embankment, striking the ground.

Popejoy received serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County.
