It’s Opening Day for Missouri Archery Season

(Bixby) Archery hunters for deer and turkey can head back to the woods in the Show-Me State.

Iron County Conservation Agent Sarah Ettinger-Dietzel says Thursday is opening day.

Chronic wasting disease or C.W.D. continues to be a disease problem found in some Missouri deer, including a few counties in our area.

We asked the conservation agent if they have come across deer with C.W.D. in Iron County.

Ettinger-Dietzel says the new fall hunting pamphlet has a new feature hunters can utilize.

The 2022 Missouri firearms deer season will get underway with the early youth portion on October 29th and 30th.

The November portion of the regular firearms season runs November 12th through the 22nd.

The late youth deer hunt will then take place November 25th through the 27th.

Also, don’t forget about fall firearms turkey hunting season.

It takes place the entire month of October.
