(JACKSON) The Class 5 District 1 championship trophy is staying in Jackson as the Indians knocked off Fox 49-20 on AM 1400 KJFF.

The start was what the Warriors were looking for as quarterback Brock Inman made the most of a scramble play.

The extra point was missed and Fox led 6-0 early in the 1st. Jackson then reeled off the next 3 touchdowns, one by ground and two by air to lead 21-6. Midway thru the 2nd quarter, the Warriors had life again with Juhaud Thompson picking up a big chunk of yards.

With the lead down to 8, the Indians put their minds at ease once again with the best individual play of the game.

Jackson added a pair of late touchdowns in the first half to go up 42-13 at the break. The Indians and the Warriors traded touchdowns in the 2nd half.

Fox’s season ends at 8-3 while Jackson improves to 11-0 and moves on to the Class 5 State Quarterfinals next week against Eureka.
