Jackson Dement Signs To Play Baseball At McKendree University

(Arcadia Valley) Jackson Dement has been a great representative of Arcadia Valley athletics the last four years. Now, he’s moving on to Division II McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois to play baseball. Dement made the decision to attend McKendree back in January, but a ceremony for his signing was held in the Arcadia Valley gym on May 19th.

Dement tore his ACL in the middle of the 2022-23 basketball season, forcing him to miss his senior baseball season. He recently got rid of the crutches, but he says it’s still a long road to getting fully healthy.

As far as his studies go, Dement plans to get into the business field.

Dement tells us what his favorite thing is about being an Arcadia Valley Tiger.

On the basketball court this past season, Dement averaged 20 points and 9 rebounds. During his junior year for baseball, he hit .457 at the plate and had a 2.39 ERA on the bump in 38 innings.
