Jakoubek Makes Dream Team Once Again After Historic Season on the Football Field

(Festus) Dawson Jakoubek played a major role in the success of the Jefferson Blue Jays’ historic football season. He played on senior heavy offensive line that helped the Blue Jays run for over 3,100 yards. Dawson made his biggest impact on the defense with 133 total tackles including 90 solo tackles, five tackles for a loss, four sacks, one interception and a fumble recovery. All of those number made him an easy selection for the 2020 Football Dream Team.

The Jefferson Offensive line had multiple seniors that had been playing together for a long time and Jakoubek said playing along side those guys made his senior year special. He says he enjoys playing the game of football, and that his success comes form trusting the teammates and coaches.

The Blue Jays selected Jakoubek to be a captain on this team an honor that he didn’t take lightly. One captain got to take part in the coin toss and Dawson was chosen for that as well. He says he has a lot to be thankful for.

The senior made the Dream Team for the second consecutive year, and claimed All-Conference honors for the second year in a row. Jefferson finished the season at 9-3 winning their first football district championship in school history, and made it to the Class 2 State Semifinals.
