James “Jim” Everts – Service 07/13/2024 10:00 am
James “Jim” Everts (N9JME), 83 of Hager City, Wisconsin, died Saturday, June 8, 2024 at his home. He was born May 21, 1941 in Red Wing, Minnesota, to Len and Verona (Feindt) Everts. His family moved to Texas and he graduated from high school in McAllen, Texas. He then attended Pan-American College and began working as a draftsman. He married Virginia “Gina” Smith on April 6, 1963. They made their home in Houston where they raised their family and in 1989, Jim and Gina moved to Hager City, WI. He worked at Ashland in St. Paul and then continued to work as an individual consultant, as a draftsman, for various industries. He enjoyed ham radio (call sign N9JME) and was a member of Hiawatha Valley Radio Club. He was also a skilled woodworker and made several pieces of furniture. Jim and Gina loved traveling, especially to Colorado. Jim was a likeable guy who had a way with sarcasm and humor.
He is survived by his son, Jim (Kathy) Everts of Hager City; grandson, Thomas Everts of Houston, TX; 2 step-granddaughters, Ashley Hill of Florida and Tristen Hill of Arizona and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gina in 2022 and a son, Greg.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing, with a visitation one hour prior.
