+++The Crystal City Hornets welcome in the Festus Tigers Tuesday in a boys basketball match-up of cross town rivals. Festus is looking to get back above the 500 mark and are seven and three in their last ten games after starting the year oh and four. The Hornets have struggled so far this season sitting at three and ten but are coming off of a win against Kingston. Hornets coach Sean Breeze says despite their struggles this season, the boys are amped up to play in a rivalry game.

+++The Tigers are led by senior Joe Woods who’s averaging 17-point-six points per game while securing five-point-one rebounds a game. Junior Daniel Portell is the other Tiger averaging double figures with just over 12 and a half points per game. Festus head coach Jason Therrell knows that junior Brady DeGeare causes match-up problems for anyone.

+++DeGeare is averaging close to a double-double a night dropping 18-point-four points per game while grabbing nine-point-two rebounds a contest for the Hornets. Junior Chris Eisenbeis has stepped up as the second scoring option this year for Crystal City averaging eight-point-eight points per game to lighten DeGeare’s load. The rivalry resumes tonight as Crystal City hosts the Festus Tigers at Crystal City High School with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 pm. Pregame action will begin at 7:20 in a game you can hear on 1400 K-J-F-F and online streaming at mymoinfo dot com.
