(Hillsboro) Jefferson County was placed back into Red guidance with the current Covid-19 numbers. Jefferson County Health Department Director Kelley Vollmar wants to remind residents what they can do in order to get the numbers back down and return to the Orange guidance.

The Jefferson County Health Department board of directors will meet Thursday (9/24) afternoon at 3 o’clock. There will be two meetings, one includes normal business and discussions, while the other concerns the tax rate. There are no plans for mask mandate as that item is not listed on the agenda. The Health Department board meeting will take place from the Hillsboro location.

On Wednesday, The Jefferson County Health Department has been notified of 66 new positive cases for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the county. This brings the total number of positive cases to 4,172 in Jefferson County. Of those 4,172, 1,047 are active, with 3,062 recoveries, and 60 deaths. 556 of those positive cases have been at long term care facilities.
