JCHD highly recommends getting the Covid-19 vaccine

(Hillsboro) As Jefferson County enters what will likely be another week in the Red status with the Covid-19 color guidance indicators, the Jefferson County Health Department continues to recommend get the Covid vaccine. Health Department Director Kelley Vollmar says the vaccine can be administered at many places.

The Health Department, COMTREA, Mercy Jefferson, and almost any pharmacy can administer the vaccine. Vollmar says for those not wanting to get the vaccine, you should mask up.

As of Thursday, the Jefferson County Health Department reported 101 new cases of Covid-19 in the county. The total number of positive cases stands at 26,432 since March of last year. The active cases sit at 851, and there have been 264 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
