(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Health Department will be receiving the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine near the end of next month. The Moderna brand better suits the department in terms of how it’s stored prior to use. Health Department Director Kelley Vollmar says they will be using their facilities to perform the vaccinations and will also have another option in which the public can take advantage of.

Hospital employees and those working in long term care facilities are expected to be vaccinated first, followed by area first responders. If all stays on schedule, members of the general public should be able to get the vaccine towards the end of January.
