JCSO adding a Mental Health Coordinator position

(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is adding a new position to help with mental health problems within the population. They are looking for a Mental Health Coordinator and they hope to hire someone for that position later this year. Sheriff Dave Marshak says they receive numerous calls for service every year concerning an individual showing problems with mental health.

Sheriff Marshak says there will be a number of positives by having someone in place to handle these ongoing situations.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is taking applications for the Mental Health Coordinator now until the end of the month. They plan to review the applications and hold interviews next month, and perhaps hire for the position sometime in July.
