JCSO most crimes have decreased in 2021

(Hillsboro) At the end of July, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office released their mid-year crime stats and compared those numbers to where they stood at this time both last year and in 2019. Robberies, arson, assaults, domestic violence, burglaries, and stealing cases have dropped compared to last year. Sheriff Dave Marshak says it helps when he has a good group of officers and deputies and an aggressive prosecuting attorney’s office that wants to make a difference.

Other stats include a slight decrease in stolen vehicle cases, with a small increase in rape cases, and one more homicide in 2021 compared to both 2020 and 2019.
