JeffCo baseball opens 2020 season with win at Lindenwood

The Jefferson College Vikings opened up the 2020 baseball season with a convincing 7-0 win over Lindenwood in the first game of a doubleheader Monday in St. Louis.

Freshman Brett Hammit started the scoring with an RBI double in the top of the first, and sophomore Jack Rigoni put the finishing touches on the win with a 2-run home run in the sixth.

Freshman Reece Lang got the start on the mound and led a pitching staff that gave up just one hit total.

Vikings then went on to take game 2 with a score of 9-8. Trevor Tietz got the W and Will Richardson got the save. Bailey Crump brought 3 home.

The Vikings are next back in action Friday when they travel to East Mississippi Community College for a doubleheader.
