Jeffco Lady Vikings Beat Shawnee

(HILLSBORO)    In a game broadcast Wednesday  night on AM 1400 KJFF and mymoinfo.com, the Jefferson College Lady Vikings overcame a two point halftime deficit to go on and beat the Shawnee Community College Saints 47-39. The Lady Vikings led 11-3 after the first quarter, trailed at halftime 15-13, and were ahead 32-23 after three quarters.    Lady Vikings head coach C.B. Walker says the win was a total team effort.

Jefferson was led in scoring by Jakayla Kirk who had 18 points and Sydney Burris provided 13 more. For the Saints their high scorer was Kiara Cruz who poured in 22 points. Shawnee is now 12-6 while the Lady Vikings improve to 6-19. Jefferson will host the 17-8 Mineral Area College Lady Cardinals on Saturday at 2pm.
