The Jefferson Bluejays are hoping that the time will come when they can defend the conference championship they won in baseball last season.

Despite taking the JCAA Small School Division crown in 2019, a new season is on hold.

Bluejays head coach Robert Kuehnle says he hashed out what his team needs to do during the break from in-school activities.

In terms of staying in game shape, Kuehnle gave his team advice on what they can do.

Jefferson lost a number of seniors from last year’s 17-4 campaign that ended with an upset loss to Herculaneum in the Class 3 District 3 semifinals.

Junior Colby Ott returns as the top hitter for the Bluejays, but Kuehnle says, among other returners, his rotation and batting order will need big contributions from senior Levi Ebersoldt.

The earliest game Jefferson could play according to its current schedule would be April 7th against Festus.
