Jefferson Blue Jays Volleyball Going to Final Four

(FESTUS) The Jefferson Lady Blue Jays volleyball team is headed to the Class 2 Final Four for the second straight year following their 3-2 win over Saxony Lutheran Saturday.

Jefferson fell behind in the match, losing the first set 25-23. They won the next two sets 25-23 and 25-17, putting Saxony between a rock and a hard place. But Saxony won the fourth set 25-22.   In the fifth set Saxony jumped out to an 8-4 lead but Jefferson was able to make a comeback and they tied the set at 14-14. Saxony jumped in front 15-14 but Jefferson prevailed, winning the set and the match 17-15.

 

Jefferson senior middle and outside hitter Kirsten Loyd says the team has a particular game they play in practice.

 

 

Jefferson head coach Tara Fish says her team will spend this coming week watching game video and relaxing a bit after the hard fought win over Saxony.

 

 

 

 

The Final Four will take place at the “Show Me” Center in Cape Girardeau. Jefferson’s semi-final game will be Friday at 6 and if they win, they will play for the state championship on Saturday at 4pm.
