(Hillsboro) Jefferson College continues to do its part and play a vital role in support of its students and community members alike during these trying times. An organization helping the college continue its services is the Hillsboro Lions Club.

According to Jefferson College Director of Marketing Roger Barrentine. The local Lions Club recently donated $250 to the Vikings’ Vault Food Pantry.

Since it’s opening in late September of 2018, the college food pantry has served hundreds of students each semester with food and hygiene products.

While Jefferson College has been fortunate to receive donations through the local community, the college is paying it forward by donating several medical supplies to area healthcare workers.

Recently the college’s Radiology Tech Director, Janet Akers personally sewn and donated face masks to workers in the healthcare field.

Barrentine adds the college will continue to help the community anyway they can.

While college facilities remain closed, college operations continue remotely for both students and faculty.
