(HILLSBORO) The Jefferson College baseball team extended its winning streak to 14 games in a wild 3-2 Region 16 battle at home against Mineral Area College on Friday, a game heard on KREI and KJFF.

In the bottom of the 1st inning, Nick Hagedorn pulled through for the Vikes to give them an early lead.

 
The MAC Cardinals retaliated with a run of their own in the top of the 3rd.

 
The Jeff Co Vikings quickly returned the favor in the bottom of the 3rd, retaking the lead with Dalton Doyle providing the damage.

 
Immediately, in the top of the 4th, the Cardinals tied the game yet again.

 
That knotted the score up at 2. Jeff Co’s Austin Cheeley relieved Adam Link in the 5th with the game tied. Cheeley pitched 3 scoreless innings to set up the Vikings for the aforementioned “wild” finish.

 
The Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game was awarded to Austin Cheeley, who earned his 6th win of the season. Coach Moulder agreed with the choice.

 
Jefferson College improves to 32-8 overall and 16-4 in Region 16 play. MAC drops to 19-12 on the season and 7-12 in Region 16.
