(HILLSBORO) A pair of Jefferson College softball Vikings are heading to Springfield to continue their careers with the Drury Panthers. Abbey McAteer and Abby Tiemann were both high-caliber outfielders the last two seasons for Jeff Co; McAteer batted .406 in her sophomore year while hitting 6 home runs and stealing 16 bases, and Tiemann batted .478 with 68 runs scored and 41 stolen bases in her sophomore year.

McAteer, a Northwest Lion alum, says that it’s been wonderful to play at Jeff Co for coach Tony Cook and his staff.

McAteer and Tiemann weren’t the only dominant Abby’s on the squad the last two years. Abby Rollet, who hit a home run in her final at-bat as a Viking, played in the outfield too. McAteer couldn’t have asked for a better trio.

Tiemann, who came to Jeff Co from Fort Zumwalt South, picked up a great work ethic while playing for the Vikings.

Tiemann has nothing but positives to say about her time at Jeff Co.

Abby McAteer and Abby Tiemann both added that they are really happy to be teammates at Drury. Drury University is an NCAA Division II program in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
