Jefferson County 9-1-1 Dispatch purchases new radios

(Jefferson County) Jefferson County 9-1-1 Dispatch has purchased new emergency communications equipment.

Travis Williams is the Chief of Jefferson County 9-1-1 Dispatch.

He says they will be replacing hand-held portable radios for fire, ems and law enforcement agencies they dispatch for in the county.

The current radios were purchased in 2012-2013 and are nearing end of life.

A purchase order has already been signed and Chief Williams is hopeful the communications equipment will start arriving in October with all the radios programmed and disbursed in November or December.
