(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Health Department has placed the county back into red status with the color guidance indicator for Covid-19. Health Department Director Kelley Vollmar says the numbers were trending that way over the last week, and a high number of positive cases confirmed over the weekend resulted in the status change.

Vollmar says stopping the latest spike in cases is something the public needs to do to get the spread back to a manageable level.

Vollmar says residents need to limit their travel, use good hygiene practices, wear a mask when out in public, stay home if you’re not feeling well, and practice social distancing as much as possible.
