(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Council continues to work out the details of how to utilize the 26.4 million dollars allocated to the county from the Cares Act. County Executive Dennis Gannon says on Monday night, the first monies from the Cares Act were given to the Jefferson County Health Department.

Gannon says looking over which other county agencies will be receiving a portion of funding is still being worked out.

Gannon says they have brought in someone to serve as an additional legal counsel to help with decisions.

Gannon says he and the County Council will meet next week for a work session to move forward with laying out the funding plan.
