Jefferson County Council approves funds for Hillsboro water tower

(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Council voted to approve ARPA funds to help build the much-needed water tower in the northern end of Hillsboro. Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon says they have earmarked a little over 1.5 million dollars for the project. Gannon says since there is a strong possibility a future county structure will be located in that area, it made sense to move this project along.

Gannon says this tower will also aid the City of Hillsboro for more future development near the intersection of Old Highway 21 and Highway A.

Hillsboro City officials have been working on this water tower project for years. As of now, there is no timetable for when the infrastructure work will begin.
