(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Council is looking to pass a bill that would regulate armed security details in unincorporated areas of the county. Crystal City Attorney Scott Harness helped to write some of the wording for the bill and gave some details in terms of who would be affected by its passage.

Harness says Jefferson County is simply following similar guidelines in other areas of the St. Louis region.

The bill was read for a second time on Monday night. It’s likely to be read and officially passed at the next Jefferson County Council meeting in less than two weeks.
