Jefferson County Drops into Yellow Status for COVID-19 cases

(Jefferson County) Yellow status! That’s the news from the CDC’s latest week 8 COVID-19 update in Jefferson County.
Brianne Zwiener with the Jefferson County Health Department overviews the official numbers.
The way how the CDC reports COVID data and assigns areas “color guidance indicators” has changed.
Of the 153 new cases reported, 62 percent were unvaccinated, close to 23 percent were fully vaccinated, and around 15 percent were fully vaccinated and boosted.
Coronavirus cases are down, what about the flu?
On Wednesday, the JCHD reported 24 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of positive cases to 52,758 since March of 2020.
The total number of active cases is 200, and there have been 500 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
