Jefferson County Elections Clerk not in favor of proposed legislation moving school board elections to November

(Hillsboro) A Missouri Senate bill language is wanting to move school board elections from April to November. Senate Bill 234 was sponsored by Senator Ben Brown of Washington, Missouri. Jefferson County Elections Clerk Jeannie Goff is not a fan of the proposed change.

Goff says each voter receiving two ballots could become a problem.

The bill would also make all school board terms to be four years in length. A hearing was conducted Senate Education and Workforce Development Committee earlier this month, with the majority of the witnesses speaking against the bill.
