(Hillsboro) While Jefferson County has moved back to an “orange” status in terms of the Covid-19 weekly guidance indicator, a mask mandate is still not in effect. However, when asked if further restrictions could be set in motion by the county government, Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon says he doesn’t plan in implementing any further orders. Gannon says the public needs to do their part as far as keeping themselves and others safe.

A mask mandate would have to be passed by the Jefferson County Health Department Board of Directors. Gannon says the board is planning on having a meeting soon, with the possibility of holding it at a larger venue. It’s unknown if a mask mandate will be listed on the agenda for that upcoming meeting.
